This year is the fifth national conference on poverty alleviation and sustainable development spearheaded by Samar State University (SSU).
- The abstract shall not be more than 250 words. Please use the abstract template given. Format shall be strictly followed.
- The abstract will undergo a review process. A notification letter will be sent should your abstract be accepted and you will be invited to register as presenter to the confab.
- Submission of full paper is required for those papers accepted for oral competition.
- Qualified participants will also be invited to publish their papers at the CDRJ and/or JAR. See More
- The poster must have a size of 30inx45in. Define the purpose of your paper. Knowing the purpose will help you decide what to include and what not to. Use high quality images or figures to illustrate the complex sets of numbers or texts. Please refer to the poster sample provided for the format and content. See More
- The film should not be longer than 15 minutes and shorter than 5 minutes. Preferably it is 10 minutes. The short video aim is to tell a story using audio-visual format. In making your film/video, make sure you have a script or a storyline to follow. Each paper presenter will have to prepare a 10-minute pre-recorded video of their presentation containing their introduction, objectives, and methodology. The rest of the video shall discuss the important outputs of the research. See More

Reinventing Resilience, Empowering Citizenry
Twenty twenty one (2021) marks the Fifth (5th) National Conference on Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development spearheaded by Samar State University (SSU). This year, SSU continues to work together with its strong SUC and HEI collaborators in the Eastern Visayas, Philippines namely: Leyte Normal University (LNU), Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), Eastern Samar State University (ESSU), Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU), Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT), Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS), Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), University of Eastern Philippines (UEP), and Visayas State University (VSU).
This year’s theme is worded as, “Reinventing Resilience, Empowering Citizenry.” Adapting to the new and better normal, the confab will be conducted online via Zoom Web Conferencing, Facebook Live, and Youtube Live.
Aside from serving as a platform for showcasing relevant scientific studies, the confab will also highlight the discourses along poverty alleviation initiatives and tackle the subject of poverty in the context of the new normal.
